Information

Ryedale House in York was originally a somewhat insensitive modern office building built in the 1970’s. We provided the designs to convert this building into high quality apartments with commercial spaces on the ground floor. Looking out over the River Foss, this scheme incorporates flood resilient details and measures including an elevated substation and integrated outflows, to respond to the growing challenges of living next to a river. An expanded floor plate with a new brick façade, butt jointed corner glazing, and a contextual materials palette have all contributed to making this one of the most desirable addresses in the centre of York.
