Working with Velocity developments, AXIS have created the wholesale transformation of Sheffield’s St. Vincent’s quarter from derelict workshops and open parking lots to what has now become a popular and desirable mixed use urban village only a short walk from Sheffield’s city centre. The scheme comprises of 440 apartments, a multi storey basement car park carefully integrated into the site topography and 150,000 sq ft commercial space, all within a modern design using the latest forms of off site prefabrication to accelerate the construction process.
The second Phase Velocity Village is being constructed on a 0, 87 ha area of land bounded by Whitecroft, Bakers Lane and Solly Street. The scheme directly abuts the first Phase on Tenter Street. As with Phase 1, Phase 2 is a mixed use project providing substantial underground parking on two levels, a new public square above the parking levels and a range of new commercial and residential buildings.
